theDragonflies are a music group formed in late-2012 for the specific purpose of recording an album at Abbey Road Studios in London to benefit two charities - Parkinsons's UK and Alzheimers Society.

theDragonflies are friends who have played music together in various combinations for a number of years. but this is the first time that this band of 8 troubadours have played together in this configuration.

The band take their name from the song Dragonflies as sung by Eddi Reader.  The song was written by Boo Hewerdine and is about how fragile and precious life is.

The opportunity to record at Abbey Road was a farewell gift to Lochlain from his work colleagues at Greencore-Northampton (thank you all!)

And so the "Running Home Again" album was an opportunity to showcase favourite songs, the ones we most love to sing. The intention was to make a record for our children, our families and our friends and to support Alzheimer’s Society and Parkinson’s UK .
